Contact Lens Fitting

There are several types of contact lenses available: soft disposable contacts, rigid gas permeable, coloured and ortho-K overnight rigid.

There are daily, fortnightly or monthly soft disposable contact lenses for days of freedom from spectacle wear. We can fit rigid contact lenses for clear vision in high prescriptions or ocular conditions like keratoconus. There are also ortho-K overnight rigid contact lenses which are worn during sleep and removed in the morning. They are often aimed at slowing down the progression of short-sightedness. As contact lenses sit directly on the eye, they need to be assessed carefully at the initial fitting appointment as well as at aftercare appointments. This is to ensure the ongoing health of your eyes and ongoing safety and comfort of contact lens wear.
